I made the mistake of presenting the business as a carpentry business initially. For SEO purposes, this would have been much harder to position my client's brand in the dense space of carpentry. Heritage restoration was much more impactful for local SEO and market placement over just plain carpentry - would've been doing my client an injustice if I kept the initial direction.

My client was quite unsure of what they wanted. Good communication was essential throughout, I would explain my process and reasoning for much of what I was doing to make sure he understood. For example, my client decided that they wanted a business email. New business email addresses need authentication, like DMARC, so I made sure to set this up on my end, and explained to them how to avoid emails going to spam.
